Left is the drum kit used on this 1st ever Extreme European tour. Drum Tech #1, Steve Cohen, didn't have much time to set up during these Aerosmith support shows, but did a great job given the amount of 'stuff' he had to place on the tough to carry 2 racks. The toms, starting from 6" to 14" on the upper level, were accompanied by the 16" (left) and 18" (right) rototoms on the bottom.It was the last of the set ups before changing to the symmetrical apex set up used (see below) on the Punchline World Tour where Rhythm Knowledge cohort, Frank Dolan manned the new apex shaped. |

Below is the 1st apex set up used. The arrangement of the toms allowed for orchestration that followed specific melodies played by the guitar, bass & vocals. Being able to change drums 1 hit at a time allowed for the 'matching' of Nuno's fast guitar runs. A normal drumset cannot accomplish that. This kit had to be. |
